So its almost that time of year when everyone and anyone seems to be getting married, and this summer I'll be heading to a family wedding. So what better excuse to start picking out what to wear? When it comes to modern tailoring with a modest price, I always head straight to Zara and have picked some of my favourite current pieces, along with some added extras, of what I hope to be wearing at the wedding.
THE SUIT
Weddings are a great excuse to get dressed up to the nines and pull out all the stops so that means a great suit. This Zara Basic Suit is just my style, with the slimmer cut trousers and structured blazer, which I'm desperate to get my hands on. The trousers and blazer (£29.99, £69.99 respectively) can be used in a multitude of different ways and would be a great investment, especially if you have interviews or important meetings too.
THE SHIRT
Now I'm still undecided on which route I want to take with the shirt. I think a classic white Plain Tailored Shirt looks timeless and slick, especially teamed with a well fitting suit and a great quiff (yep, I said quiff). On the other hand, an unexpected twist would be this Poplin Shirt with Floral Embroidery would be a great pop of pattern without being too fussy and over the top. Im yet to see both in person so hopefully my decisive action will kick in then (oh who am i kidding?! I'm a serial procrastinator)
THE SHOES
So much like the marriage, shoes really are 'death do us part'. Pick the wrong ones and you risk being 'that person' who's hobbling round with huge blisters, but pick the right ones and you'll never look back. For a summer wedding, nothing says smart like a moccasin. Its relaxed enough to have ankle grazing skinny trousers teamed with them, but smart enough to earn serious sophistication points. Im drawn to these Antik Leather Moccasin with Tassels with their deep burgundy shade, I think they'd add a nice pop of colour and texture without being too 'fruit cocktail' (my way of saying too much texture and colour is a overload to the senses). On the other hand, Suede is another texture I adore, so these Suede Moccasin with Tassels in a rich navy which scream luxury and a total steal at £59.99. OH THE DECISIONS.
Ill update you as soon as I pick the final pieces out!
Until next time...
