how to style statement knits // IYAAJAY

November 15, 2018

& in one blink, were in autumn/winter

how on earth has this year gone THAT quickly that its already the colder months? its insane

but luckily i love the winter styling more; think thicker fabrics, layering, playing with tons of warmer colours, and I just can't get enough. Ive been really playing with knitwear more lately, loosely tucking it, leaving it out sans 90s vibe, layered under jackets for handy layering or my current fave; the almost half assed tucked approach which makes everything just look a tad undone but dressy

I thought id compile a little sample of some of my fave knits and how/what I've paired them with just to give some inspiration this season

tapered trousers ; Topman

oversized knit ; All Saints AW17 (they've bought it back this year in the reverse colour way here)

backless loafers ; House of Hounds

∴

knit ; Nick Grimshaw x Topman (Topman have one similar this season in a all over stripe here)

belt ; Topshop (similar here)

dad jeans ; BDG @ Urban Outfitters

backless loafers ; as before

∴

cable knit ; Topman

pinstripe original jeans ; Topman

backless loafers ; as before

∴

high neck ribbed jumper ; Topman

pinstripe co-ord ; BoohooMAN (bomber & matching trousers)

∴

hope this gives you some seasonal inspiration, whether its how to revamp your current knitwear or ideas for some new pieces into the wardrobe

Until next time,

Jay

OOTD / SUMMER ROCK ft UO, TOPMAN, DR MARTENS AND VANS // IYAAJAY

August 26, 2016

guns n roses washed band tee - Urban Outfitters (click here)

japanese tattoo print Hawaiian style shirt - Dr Martens (click here)

classic slip on suede plimsoles in burgundy scotchgard - Vans (click here)

black ripped skinny denim shorts (similar) - Topman (click here)

where has this latest burst of hot weather come from? its taken me and my wardrobe by total surprise and I'm having to dig back out my summer stuff pronto so I thought id share with you some of the pieces that I've been loving lately.

The band tee is the latest edition to the wardrobe because I've been after one for ages (not for the reason you think) but I was being a little pickier than normal because I wanted specific dates on the back from a band that my family love (hence my middle name, Axl) so when I found this one on the last chance to buy rack at UO, I had to snap it up! I'm STILL obsessed with these revere shirts because they're so easy to pair with everything and this Dr Martens one has a 50s bowling shirt vibe which I also adore.

Also how are you liking the new variety of backgrounds? I finally invested in a proper camera tripod (shop it here) so I'm loving the ability to use new locations to create content.

What do you think of this look? What would you pair these pieces with? Let me know below or on social media using #IYAAJAY

Until next time,

Jay

My Week In Instagram 3

July 22, 2013

So this week was a little quiet from me on the ol' Instagramming front but its been super busy so thats the excuse im sticking to (trust me, its stressful organising stuff when the impending doom of no lounge ceiling is coming) BUT i did manage to do 3 posts, including one that has the most love for a video on my feed yet (17 and counting, I know it seems low but thats pretty high for mine for some odd reason)

Last Mondays OOTD included my dog bite vest from River Island (Buy Here) my last season shorts by Worland available from Urban Outfitters (probably the stupidest price for shorts but im picky and loved them!), my all black Toms from Office (Buy Here), my Ray Ban Original Wayfarers (Buy Here) and my Only NY snapback (Sadly both my Worland shorts and Only NY snapback are now unavailable but similar's are available from Urban Outfitters and Urban Industry)

The music is 'Hothouse' by 78Violet

Last Tuesdays OOTD included my Zara oversized 88 tee, my Worland shorts and my Burgundy Vans, sadly all of which are now not sold anymore, but similar are available from where i've mentioned before or named.

The music is 'Falling' by Haim

Wednesday called for a boiling hot 'I'm grumpy to be at work' selfie which yes, was taken in my car (note the sexy fabric used for the seats, which I don't mind as i'm sitting on it, therefore I can't see it!). Anyone who works in retail will share my sympathy when people use the lines 'its boiling outside' or 'its nice in here with the aircon' DONT MAKE IT WORSE, IM WORKING!

Currently I'm waiting on a order from Urban Outfitters to get here (deal of the century by the way but I wont spoil it yet!) so expect that to be on my Instagram which is iyaajay so follow me if you don't already! Also, Im just going to do a disclaimer saying that every product shown is purchased with my own money, and if sent to me it'll be stated.

Urban Outfitters mini haul

February 23, 2013

Hey guys, I placed a order with Urban Outfitters super late Thursday, and its just turned up, so Im super excited to see what my stuff was like. I only ordered 2 things as Ive never ordered with them before so I picked things that I liked but wasn't too fussed about if things went a tad wrong or took a long time to get here, but I was pleasantly surprised that not only did it turn up fast, I'm keeping everything as I love it that much. Anyways enough with the rambles and onto the haul....

Oh Snaps Leather Notebook

So I'd seen this in store a few weeks back and I couldn't believe I didn't pick it up! Its a different leather and ribbon page finder then shown on the website but it gives you a general idea of what your getting. I love the old fashioned aged leather and lined pages which makes it seem more vintage then it is.

The aztec ribbon page finder and what the pages look like

Also theres a leather pen/pencil holder and a pencil included

Also I picked up this super tiny monogram necklace which is exclusive to Urban Outfitters online so I knew it was something that not many would have and its small enough for everyday wear. This tiny triangle necklace has a extendable chain at the back, which is handy, as although my neck isn't that big I had to put it at the last chain link to even get it to fit but hey, thats the risk with online shopping as you cant try it on before you buy

Overall Im so happy with my order from Urban Outfitters, not just because of the products, its the fast delivery and quick replies that also make it a site ill definitely order from again :D
