SUMMER HAUL
June 23, 2014
Ive felt my style lately has become a little bit boring (Whats with the darker shades for SS14?!) so decided to buck the trend and paint the town polkadots with this tee. I don't actually own anything like this, which I know is hard to believe, but this piece is going to be super versatile in my wardrobe whether its with chino shorts and Vans or smarter jeans, I know I'll get some serious wardrobe rotation out of it. Whats better is that its currently on sale for £24 which is a total bargain (Jack Wills are currently offering promotions on a selected range of products)
Nothing fits better then a crisp new pair of jeans, and around a month ago, Jack Wills offered a 25% promo code for instore and online so I decided to splurge and pick up a pair of my favourite jeans. Now, its been a while since I last bought a pair and since then they have slightly tweaked them, but oh god they're amazing. The denim now has that classic denim feel with the slightest touch of stretch meaning they really cling and hold to your shape without being eyewateringly tight (We've all been there at some point!) but also remain to be the softest and most comfortable pair I've ever come across. I know these aren't in everyones price range but when I bought my original pair, they lasted 2 1/2 years which is incredible impressive for jeans especially when it comes to me (I used to go through Topman jeans, around £30 a pair, every 3-6 months) so when you calculate price by wear, these are an amazing investment.
Its no secret that All Saints do incredible basic pieces in oh-so-soft cotton so I decided to pop by the concession in Fenwicks in Tunbridge Wells and tracked down one of the last ones in my size. Now usually light grey marl isn't my favourite, but this has a slightly warmer grey tone to it, which works perfectly with most colours and styles. This transitions perfectly from Summer to Winter, chucked nonchalantly under a oversized plaid shirt for laid-back grunge.
Topman recently unveiled their new fit tee range which includes the roller tee (Which I love and have a vast collection of), new fit skater tees (Which are longer length, boxier in length with zips either side) and my latest obsession, the cut off tank. This über 90s vibe tee is longer length and gives a roomy chest area due to the exposed sides (Which aren't too long which I often find such an issue due to a shorter ribcage) so this is a definite staple for this Summer.
Are they gym shorts? Are they chino shorts? Well gents, they're both! I love the dressy sports vibe these offer and also the versatility of styling (Check over on my Instagram for styling ideas) So far, I've styled them with a oversized tee with the drawstring exposed, but also teamed with a mesh american football style tee to also heighten the sports vibe. These are going to be perfect for the warmer months as they add a edge to any outfit but also aren't skin tight and are breathable, which is perfect for humid temperatures for here or abroad (My bets on abroad, the UK never really gets that hot does it?)
Printed Tank
Oh Zara, you've got to stop doing this to my bank account! Now everyone knows I'm a sucker for a interesting print, so when I saw this cloud printed basketball inspired tank, I knew I HAD to have it (So much I queued for 30 mins waiting for a guy to finish shouting about trying to return something without a receipt EVERYONE KNOWS YOU NEED A RECIEPT!) but I'm so glad I waited. This looks great teamed with shorts for the summer but if your not feeling so brave, or its got a bit chillier, this looks just as on trend layered under a shorter tee for a nod towards the street style inspired runways. Zara also currently have this on sale in a size XL only (Which is the size I got as it runs small) for £12.99 so grab a bargain!
Heading to the sales soon? or lusting after a certain item? Let me know in the comments below!
Hope this has given you some great ideas for that last minute Summer sale shop or style ideas. Don't forget to follow my Instagram @iyaajay for more style ideas and OOTD's. I have an exciting post to put up next week which is going to be a 'Get Ready With Me: Wedding Edition' which will be a in-depth look at me finally wearing a suit (Major shock to the system!)
Until next time guys!
