I took to the MaleBloggers Facebook page to ask you guys to send me some style and fashion questions and I decided to answer them right now! Lets see what you asked.
Why do some people dress so daft ?
I'm all for people being individual but some outfits are just shocking!
What rules should bigger guys follow to look good in the summer months?
Theres a couple of trends that are going to be in this summer which are perfect for the bigger guys and can really be adapted to year round dressing. First off is the athletic trend, where pieces are cut slightly oversized, which are perfect for guys who are broader. The more relaxed fit of the athletic trend can be dressed down with jeans or chino shorts for the summer daytime, and then you can swap to a more athletic style shirt for the evening too. I also love the more 90s trend for guys this summer including cut off tanks, vintage tees and oversized shirts which can be found in abundance on the highstreet or even in vintage stores if you want to find truly individual pieces (make sure to check out Absolute Vintage, and the ASOS Marketplace too). Finally, I think the more polished look is always a great summer look where button up shirts and classic roll up sleeved tees are teamed with preppy chino shorts and versatile deck shoes or Converse always suits every shape.
How to wear spring’s biggest print - the Hawaiian - without looking like a complete tool...or tourist in your own town/city
Ah now for the challenge! I love this seasonal throwback and every year the hawaiian shirt is always reinvented and styled in a new way. The key to styling these shirts is simple, keep the colour way simple. Most shirts that are inspired by that trend are the boldest colours and patterns you can find, but the highstreet this year have toned it down and made it more wearable then ever before (All Saints have a lust worthy inspired shirt this year, and ASOS have a great summer evening shirt with this print too) I would team the evening shirt with a pair of slick jeans, brogues and a pork pie hat to tone down the pattern which is the main focus of the outfit. Keeping a paired back colour palette with the hawaiian shirt is also key because of the boldness of the pattern, other colours can cause a unpleasant clash so its best to stay darker on the co-ordinating pieces. For the All Saints shirt, I would take it a little more 90s and pair it with a white tee underneath, vintage lighter denim shorts and a killer pair of hightops, or take a look out of their book and pair it with a ripped pair of skinny jeans and the shoes I’m craving this season, the man sandal (A lot easier to wear then flip-flops! and also a hell of a lot more stylish too!)
Hope these answers help you guys! Anything else you want to know? Let me know in the comments below. Also let me know if you like 3 posts a week as Im thinking of keeping to this schedule and want to see what you guys think.
Until next time guys,
