Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2013

March 07, 2013

Opulence. Glamour. Exquisite. Detailed.
The first words that come into my head following the breathtaking Alexander McQueen 2013 Autumn Winter runway show in Paris, located at the Opera Comique. With its over the top sophistication and detail, the decor of the venue reflected the Georgian influenced infused into the latest collection amazingly, meaning it felt like it was meant to be.

The clothes, as usual, are oosing with over the top delicacy and sophistication, topped off with edgy embellished accessories. The accessories added a modern edge, such as the bejewelled cage headpieces, the leather knuckle duster gloves and the heavily embellished shoes and tights, that reflected a more modern interpretation of Georgian glamour.

The simple way the show was set meant the clothes spoke for themselves without having too many lights or backgrounds that take away the emphasis of the story being portrayed through the designs that are gracing the runway. The runway itself was a simple straightforward walk meaning every angle was seen to the maximum and the clothes were seen to the fullest.

This show is always the highlight of Paris Fashion Week for me and this year it certainly didnt disappoint me at the slightest.
